Ongoing research by BonusFinder.com has projected that the state of Ohio will rank as the highest state for US Sports Betting once the state goes live early next year.
According to projections, the site expects Ohio to gain up to 25 approved operators and more than 12 million sports betting fans to place wagers once the state’s market opens.
The study also broke down which brands could have the largest impact on Ohio players: “The big hitters such as FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and Caesars will all be there spending millions in marketing dollars to attract ‘Buckeyes’ to bet but the choice for consumers will be so much wider than anywhere else in the US.”
Bonus Index is a quarterly study that is conducted by BonusFinder.com. The study tracks betting trends and quarterly performance in 24 regulated US states and Canadian provinces.
The site will also keep track of the number of licenses awarded, those who have been approved and the average of bonuses offered by licensed brands. An overall score is calculated and ranked to determine which brands are the overall winners.
Fintan Costello, Managing Director of BonusFinder.com, said: “The last five years have seen explosive growth across US sports betting states but the ‘Buckeye state’ is about to buck that trend from New Year’s Day 2023 providing consumers with the most attractive offerings, rewards and bonuses anywhere in the country – and all just a few weeks before the SuperBowl. The timing could not be better.”
Sports betting in Ohio will launch on January 1, 2023. State lawmakers passed House Bill 29 toward the end of 2021, setting statewide legalized sports betting in motion.
