Plans have now been revealed for a 600-room hotel and casino in Henderson that will expand Station Casinos' control in the territory. The project is expected to develop over three phases, with the first beginning in January 2024.
President of Red Rock Resorts, Scott Kreeger, provided these details in a letter dated September 19 to the city of Henderson. He noted this location will have similar offerings as Red Rock Resort in Summerlin and Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson.
Station Casinos is currently building a $750m resort in the southwest valley called Durango. In December, the group purchased 67 acres in North Las Vegas for $55m, after it secured approvals for a 600-room hotel project on the site.
In late September, Kreeger also revealed areas where Station owns large lots of land, including Inspirada and Skye Canyon in the upper northwest valley.
In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Kreeger said: "So whether that’s Inspirada first and Skye Canyon second, or whether we decide to do that simultaneously, there are quite a few factors. … that could go into that formula.
"But the good news is we’re positioning ourselves to have optionality and flexibility and be ready to do that as soon as Durango comes online."
Over the summer, Station Casinos announced that three hotels, which had been closed since the onset of the pandemic, would be torn down. Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho and Texas Station will be demolished and the sites will be sold.
The Henderson City Council is scheduled on Tuesday to consider plans to buy the 35-acre former Fiesta Henderson site from Station for $32m.
