Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady will hold a free dealing academy on January 2, 2023. The New York destination currently has 20 openings for table game dealers.
The six-week course is valued at $5,000. Depending on enrollment, Rivers Casino said it might open a second class time. The current schedule will run from 11AM to 3PM Monday through Friday for six weeks.
Potential students must be 21 or older and can apply through the casino’s website. Rivers Casino noted that those who are interested do not need to have any previous dealer experience.
The casino said in a statement: “The Rivers Casino Dealer Academy teaches students a range of popular games beginning with Blackjack and other novelty table games.
“The program welcomes fun, energetic, and reliable participants of all levels – from beginners with no knowledge at all of table games to those with more experience.”
Once training is completed and graduates obtain a New York State gaming license, the casino will offer positions for both part-time and full-time dealers. Employees will have access to wages and tips, as well as medical, dental and vision insurance access and 401(k) options.
