The running of the Mouttet Mile coincided with the launch of betting at Caymanas Park.

BetMakers Technology Group and Supreme Ventures Racing Entertainment have announced the launch of fixed odds betting at Caymanas Park in Jamaica.

The launch comes shortly after BetMakers entered New Jersey earlier this year and coincided with the running of the Mouttet Mile, the richest race in the English-speaking Caribbean.

Fans were able to place fixed odds bets on racing, which locks in their wagering prices right when the bet is placed.

BetMakers Head of Business Development US Dallas Baker commented: "The culture and passion for racing in Jamaica really needs to be seen to be believed.

"Jamaica punches well above its weight when it comes to betting handle so we are in for some exciting times now that we have launched fixed odds betting in a second jurisdiction in the Americas."

Several betting stands were placed during the race and Supreme Ventures plans to launch a network of approximately 130 wagering outlets with online betting to be released in early 2023.

He continued: "Like all of our partner tracks, we are committed to the growth of racing and re-investment in the industry.

"As we have seen in Australia with the boom in racing handle over the 15 years following the deregulation of fixed odds betting, new players are entering the industry, innovation and technology advancements are plentiful, and the customer experience is at an all-time high."

BetMakers provides racing and betting solutions that monetize horseracing for stakeholders.

Baker concluded: "The team at Caymanas Park, headed by Chairman Solomon Sharpe, are committed to the promotion of horseracing and we are very proud to join with them in efforts to grow racing for all participants in Jamaica."
