Scientific Games has announced that James D. Schultz will be the company’s new Executive VP, Global Public Policy and Government Affairs. In this role, Schultz will lead a unified government affairs, public policy and advocacy agenda to support Scientific Games’ global business group.
Schultz will be tasked with ensuring Scientific Games is the partner company of choice for government lotteries worldwide and help maximize proceeds from lottery beneficiary funding.
The company already provides retail and digital games, technology, analytics and services to 130 lotteries in 50 countries spanning six continents.
Schultz brings two decades of providing strategy and policy advice to major corporations, institutions, government leaders and government organizations.
Before joining Scientific Games, Schultz served as General Counsel to the Governor of Pennsylvania and was an Associate White House Counsel under Donald Trump, serving from January 20, 2017, to November 24, 2017.
More recently, in November 2022, he was appointed to the transition team for Pennsylvania Governor-elect Josh Shapiro.
His most recent role was as a partner at Holland & Knight law firm in Philadelphia and Washington DC. Here, he has leadership roles in the company’s Northeast Government Advocacy Team and the State Attorneys General Practice as part of the firm’s Public Policy & Regulation Group.
