As many as 21 mobile sports wagering operators are expected to launch in the Free State.

BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, BetRivers and FanDuel Sportsbook are just five of the several online sportsbooks that have gone live in Maryland at launch.

There are still several applicants looking for licensing in the state as well, this includes Bally’s Interactive and Digital Gaming Corporation.

Penn Entertainment has launched its online sports betting product, Barstool Sportsbook, in the state as well. In addition to its launch in Maryland, Barstool Sportsbook committed a donation to the Coppin State University Development Foundation.

Head of Penn Interactive Benjie Levy commented: "We are excited to debut Barstool Sportsbook in Maryland and expand our online footprint to our fourteenth state.

"We already enjoy a solid retail presence in Maryland and engage with a large base of fans through our property as well as Barstool Sports and theScore’s powerful digital content offerings."

The FanDuel Group announced at launch that the FanDuel Sportsbook app for iOS, Android and desktop was ready to download for users in Maryland. They also provided several promotions to get started including a guide titled "Sports Betting 101" for new bettors.

BetMGM revealed its application is available for download on iOS with Android systems soon to follow.

BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt added: "This is a significant milestone that elevates our vision to deliver world-class entertainment to sports fans in the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) region."

Catena Media, a sports betting marketing affiliate, also launched in Maryland after going live in Kansas back in September. The group is active in over 20 states or provinces and doubled its revenue in North America in 2021.

Catena Media VP North America Ryan Harper said: "This is a significant milestone that elevates our vision to deliver world-class entertainment to sports fans in the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) region.

"The timing is excellent, given that we are in week 12 of the NFL season and have the added bonus of the World Cup kicking off this week."

PointsBet Online and its mobile sports betting app went live in Maryland at launch as well. This comes on the heels of the unveiling of the PointsBet Retail Sportsbook at The Riverboat on the Potomac.

Maryland marks the 13th operational state for the company's sports betting product. PointsBet also operates in New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Kansas and Louisiana.
