The state passed legislation for a regulated betting market on August 1, which launches in early 2023.

Supplier Internet Vikings has announced it is prepared to launch in Massachusetts. This comes only months after the Bay State passed legislation creating a legal, regulated sports betting market, an Act that passed on August 1.

The company has been making inroads into the US market and became the first iGaming provider to obtain a license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board in September 2022. This followed its launch in Indiana this March and the company’s entry into Iowa in July of this year.

Internet Vikings Founder and CEO Rickard Vikström commented: “I consider Massachusetts to be a significant step in our US expansion. The state’s local authorities passed the law allowing sports founder and CEO betting just over three months ago.

“It is already attracting a lot of attention from many B2C operators and B2B suppliers. It is important that we are ready to support our clients when sports betting fully launches there.”

Internet Vikings will not be able to begin operations immediately in Massachusetts. The Act, overseen by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, has created the framework for legalized sports betting in the state. However, actual betting activities are expected to launch fully in early 2023.

The Swedish company has swept across the US gaming landscape since its inception in 2020. Its services are now available in most states where regulated iGaming and sports betting markets exist.

Internet Vikings COO Kristoffer Ottosson commented: “While our launch in the state of Massachusetts is indeed an achievement, we are not planning to stop here. As the US market experiences further active development, it is becoming increasingly essential that we progress hand in hand with it.”
