PointsBet has announced the debut of an expanded suite of live betting offerings for soccer ahead of the 2022 World Cup. The company will be using its OddsFactory, a proprietary technology integration, to deliver bets to over 130 markets – the most markets for any US sportsbook.
OddsFactory currently focuses on live products for more traditionally popular US sports and sporting leagues, such as the NFL, NBA, MLB and NCAAM.
The OddsFactory platform will offer several one-minute and five-minute ‘Lightning Bet’ markets which include Free Kick Awarded, Goal Scored, Goal Kick Awarded, Shots on Target and many more.
PASPA was overturned only a few months before the last World Cup in 2018 and the sports betting market had not truly opened up in time for it. This makes this tournament a significant one, as it is the first time over 100 million Americans will have the ability to make online wagers on the sport.
PointsBet USA CEO Johnny Aitken commented: “Soccer is ripe with opportunities to tap into live betting, and we are gearing up for an immense surge in soccer betting activity by delivering our Soccer OddsFactory integration ahead of what will no doubt be an incredible tournament.
“We are investing the necessary resources to make PointsBet the go-to sportsbook for World Cup betting and we have the technology in place to prove it. Soccer bettors will have more live options with PointsBet than anywhere else.”
