Caesars properties offering $20 free play for wearing face masks

You will have heard of responsible gambling – but Caesars Palace, Flamengo Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas are using gambling to reward responsible social distancing.

The Caesars Entertainment-owned Las Vegas properties recently gifted guests $20 in free bets for wearing face coverings while playing at slot machines.

Face masks are an essential method in tackling the spread of coronavirus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says cloth face coverings can help prevent infection, by reducing the spread of respiratory droplets through the air and onto other people.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board recently began requiring face coverings at table games without barriers.

However, social distancing in Nevada will naturally be difficult to enforce if customers have consumed alcohol and may be in the party mood.

Meanwhile, recent footage of one player smoking with a face mask on – while sitting at a slot machine – somewhat undermined the importance of the gentleman wearing the mask.
