Three employees who complained of illness caused a casino shutdown on Sunday.

The WarHorse Casino in Lincoln, Nebraska was reopened and cleared this weekend, as emergency crews checked for a suspected carbon monoxide leak after three employees complained of an illness.

Once the facility was fully checked and no carbon monoxide leak was found, the casino was reopened for business by 11:15AM the same day.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue was called to the temporary casino at Lincoln Race Course near US 77 and West Denton Road just after 10AM.

Lynne McNally stated that the casino was cleared of all people, while it was thoroughly checked and went on to state that the employees are doing fine.

The WarHorse Casino opened at the end of September after receiving its license from the Nebraska Gaming Commission. Currently, the location boasts a 9,000-square-foot gaming floor, over 400 slot machines, simulcast and live racing.

There is a second phase scheduled for September 2023 which will see the addition of 1,100 slot machines, 27 table games and a sportsbook.

When it's finished, the location will include several dining options, including a high-end steakhouse, sports bar, café and others. It will include a roughly 200-room hotel and a three-story parking garage.

Sports betting in the state recently received approval as the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission voted unanimously to approve rules for wagering on sporting events.

Commission Chairman Dennis Lee commented: "If any of you think... you're going to be able to do some sports wagering in the relatively near future, that's not really accurate – nothing further could be from the truth."
