Alejandro Rodino to resign from Codere Online’s Board of Directors

Borja Fernández has been named as his replacement, pending shareholder approval.

Codere Online has announced two major changes to its Board of Directors roster. Alejandro Rodino has resigned from his role as Director of the board and will be replaced by Borja Fernández.

Rodino represented the board as one of its four directors and was orginally appointed by Codere Newco SA. During his time with the company, Rodino has served as Codere Group’s Co-CEO.

The board acknowledged Rodino’s resignation during a recent meeting. Rodino has also stepped down from his role as a non-voting observer of the company’s audit committee.  

Fernández will step into his new role as Director, pending formal appointment by the Codere’s shareholders during the next general meeting.

Prior to joining the Codere team, Fernández has worked in both the arenas of finance and leadership. He has more than 17 years of experience serving on various company boards in various sectors. During the last 24 years, he has worked in structured finance, private equity and capital markets.

Fernández earned a BA in Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and functions in his current position as the Managing Partner for Ahorro Corporación Financiera in Madrid.

Codere Online said in an official statement: “The company would like to thank Mr Rodino for his service and valuable contribution during these months and welcomes Mr Fernández to its Board of Directors.”

Codere currently serves as an online gaming operator throughout Latin America and Spain. The online arm of casino operator, Codere Group, launched in 2014.

Since its founding, the company has grown to include both online casino and online sports betting operations and currently is live in Spain, Italy, Mexico, Colombia, Panama and the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
