IGT subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions, has signed a seven-year contract extension with Georgia Lottery Corporation. It will now be able to deploy its lottery and iLottery products to enhance Georgia’s Lottery offerings. The contract is set to run through until September 2032.
As part of the contract extension, IGT will install cashless functionality on more than 10,000 point-of-sale retail terminals, enabling players to buy lottery tickets with their debit cards. These terminals will also have ticket scanners implemented to support transactions involving QR codes, electronic playslips and other digital offers.
Georgia Lottery Corporation President and CEO Gretchen Corbin commented: “IGT has been a trusted growth partner with the Georgia Lottery since our inception in 1993, helping us proudly transfer more than $25bn to the Georgia Treasury's Lottery for Education account.
“The added technology and functionality IGT is providing will not only enhance the player experience but will drive significant, incremental value for our state and the beneficiary programs the Georgia Lottery supports."
IGT will install more than 4, 400 high-performing pro lottery terminals, along with related equipment, in prominent retail locations across the Peach State. The supplier will also replace 600 existing self-service machines with its GameTouch 28 self-service vending machines. This should help modernize the Georgia Lottery, facilitating faster and easier integration of data and insights.
IGT COO Jay Gendron commented: “As one of the most successful lotteries in the US, the Georgia Lottery has relied on IGT to deliver growth-driving lottery products for nearly 30 years.
"The Georgia Lottery has consistently embraced the evolving lottery landscape, seeing the many benefits of IGT's innovative solutions. The deployment of IGT's industry-leading cashless technologies, advanced lottery and iLottery system upgrades and new retail hardware as part of this contract extension will support the Lottery's plans for future growth."
