Light and Wonder (L&W) has named Matt Wilson as its permanent President and CEO, also promoting him to its board of directors. Wilson has served as interim CEO since August 2022 and previously acted as CEO for the company’s gaming branch; after just a couple of months as interim, his position will now be made permanent.

Wilson is a seasoned executive with nearly 20 years of experience in the gaming industry. In his role as L&W’s executive VP and group Chief Executive of Gaming, he led strategic growth plans for the gaming team. This involved overseeing product development, production, supply chain and sales of the company’s gaming products, systems and services.

Prior to joining L&W, Wilson worked with Aristocrat, serving as President and managing director, Americas. During his tenure with Aristocrat, he also acted as SVP of global gaming operations, and SVP of sales and marketing, Americas.

L&W executive chair for the board of directors, Jamie Odell, commented: “The board of directors unanimously determined that Matt is the right choice to lead L&W’s next chapter given his impressive track record, extensive industry experience and his pivotal role in transforming our business.
