Jacobs Entertainment is preparing to reopen Sands Regency and three Gold Dust West casinos in Reno, Carson City, and Elko.
The Gold Dust West casinos are set to re-open tomorrow and the Sands Regency on 24 June.
The group will follow the health regulations proposed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which requires mandatory masks and gloves, standard temperature checks and installed hand sanitizer stations.
Chairman and CEO of Jacobs Entertainment Jeffrey Jacobs said the company is “ready to push forward with Nevada’s new normal and invite the community back to our casinos, safely. Through careful and thoughtful planning, we are confident that we will safely reopen.”
The group doesn’t plan to abandon the billion-dollar development of Reno’s Neon Line project, which was halted due to the virus lockdown. Jacobs added, “We are committed to the future development of our master plan including a residential component that contains 10% affordable housing.”
Reno’s Neon Line project stretches through several streets and is meant as a live-work-play district, catering to visitors of all ages. Reportedly, it will have pedestrian-friendly amenities, restaurants, retail and entertainment venues.
