Interactive gaming and sports betting company Elys Game Technology has entered a partnership with Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. Per the terms of the agreement, Elys will provide the destination with the technology to manage its land-based sportsbook platform and services.
Pending regulatory approval, Elys is due to receive a percentage of sports betting revenue generated at the casino.
The move comes after the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control adopted new rules for sports betting in the state: Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort became one of seven Class B locations that will be guaranteed a sportsbook license.
The resort is also undergoing a three-phase renovation that will see this new sportsbook offering integrated into the design.
On the matter of the deal with Elys, Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort President Mary Lanham commented: “Prior to selecting Elys as our sportsbook providor, we evaluated a number of potential solutions. Elys’ platform and team clearly stood out based on the ease of use and integration with our existing operations, their proven track record with major casinos, as well as their decades of experience in the regulated sportsbook market.”
From its end, Elys Game Technology Executive Chairman Michele Ciavarella commented: “We are excited to enter this partnership with the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort in Maryland and to proved an end-to-end, first-in-class ‘Build-a-Bet’ sportsbook solution consistent with the amazing experience that Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort currently offers its guests, and we look forward to working with management to fulfill their inaugural goals.
“This is yet another example of how we are executing on our North American expansion strategy, by providing a proven and unique retail sportsbook solution to a variety of business operators, ranging from restaurants and sports bars to premier resorts around the country.”
