Majority of respondents were low-frequency claimants.

CasinobonusCA, a leading bonus aggregator, has surveyed over 390 Canadian gamblers regarding deposit bonus usage in 2021, shedding new light on the viability of promotions. Results showed that one in four players win from casino’s free cash offers.

The survey included questions that covered essential areas: the claiming rate; the number of bonuses users won; and the rate of cashing out converted funds. Over 87% of respondents claimed at least one promotion in 2021, with 25% claiming over 20 offers. The most significant share of users – 38.9% – claimed less than one bonus per two months or under one per month (18.7%).

The survey found that over 58% of gamblers did not manage to cash out their converted winnings. Approximately 28% of gamblers withdrew their funds from one to five bonuses, with the remaining 13.8% requesting winnings from more than five offers.

An estimated $7,547 was divided among 5.8% of gamblers, compared to $5,402 shared by 27.7% of the lowest-winning-tier respondents.

The average win-to-cashout ratio was found to be 1 to 1.563, meaning that gamblers needed to claim up to six no-deposit bonuses to expect a winning cash out from one.

The survey highlighted the popularity of no-deposit offers in Canada but also demonstrated the difficulty of winning funds and cashing out from promotional betting offers. It also reflected that there are two main groups among participating users: low-frequency claimants who opt for less than one bonus per two months and high-frequency participants claiming more than one offer per month.
