‘The Match 2’ becomes Rush Street Interactive’s biggest non-major golf event

Operator of BetRivers.com and PlaySugarHouse.com delivers another sports betting update.

‘The Match 2’ generated Rush Street Interactive’s biggest golf betting handle of any event outside the majors.

The charity match, which featured Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning against a pairing of Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady, raised over $20m for COVID-19 relief efforts.

In a rematch from Woods and Mickelson’s first fixture in November 2018, which Mickelson won, Woods and Manning came out on top.

For BetRivers.com and PlaySugarHouse.com, meanwhile, 1.5 times the handle of the first ‘Match’ was generated, though only 30% of handle was on the outright match winner.

The lion’s share of wagers were placed on side props and live betting involving individual scores, and hole-by-hole winners.

Mickelson and Brady received the early backing, initially garnering over 70% of handle, though Woods and Manning eventually received 60% of handle – and duly went on to prosper.
