Baltimore Maryland’s Bingo World has announced that it will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 1 to commemorate the grand opening of the BetRivers sportsbook. Up until now, Maryland has never had a retail sportsbook outside of a casino.
The celebration will start at noon on Monday. Following the ceremony, the sportsbook will celebrate the facility’s first bet placed on site.
The BetRivers sportsbook will feature 12 sports wagering kiosks and three over-the-counter machines within its 3,000 square foot space. Guests will have access to 32 theater style seats within a lounge area and a bar that offers seating and high tops. The sportsbook will also be home to 21 hi-definition video screens that will air multiple ongoing events, as well as BetRivers odds boards.
Notable guests who will be present at the ribbon-cutting include Bingo World President Randy Clemens, BetRivers Director of B2B Services Adam Glass, Maryland State Senator Pamela Beidle, Maryland House of Delegates Member Nicholaus Kipke and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman.
Myra Harris, an active member of the Baltimore community and known at Bingo World as a long-time customer, will cut the ribbon.
