Caesars receives top score on annual Disability Equality Index

The operator’s launch of equality scheme AVID helped secure a score of 100.
Caesars Entertainment has received the top score on 2022’s Disability Equality Index (DEI), improving on last year’s score of 80. This index is a joint initiative set up by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and DisabilityIN.
The DEI is considered by some to be the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool to measure disability workplace inclusion.
The policies that helped Caesars reach the perfect 100 score include the launch of AVID, a new business impact group for team members across the company’s 50+ properties. AVID stands for Awareness of Visible and Invisible Disabilities and endeavors to help disabled people achieve equity.
AVID is a virtual forum where Caesars’ team members with disabilities, caregivers and their allies can work together. They serve the disability community by creating a work environment that is welcoming and accessible for all.
Caesars CEO Tom Reeg commented: “At Caesars, we are committed to embracing disability inclusion as a key facet of our overall diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.
“We consistently review current practices concerning disability inclusion, and we’re honored to be recognized with a top score on this year’s DEI. We know how important inclusion is, and we will continue to work toward progress for our team members, guests and the communities.”
Caesars intends to send out a strong message: that diversity, equity and inclusion are integral to the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework.
Caesars SVP of CSR Heather Rapp was delighted at the Index’s recognition of its efforts, saying: “We’re thrilled to receive a top score of 100 on this year’s DEI.
“The increase in our score indicates the hard work our team has put in to make Caesars a welcoming workplace for everyone. We look forward to continuing our work in this area and welcoming more diverse team members.”
