Caesars Entertainment has awarded 22 students with up to $20,000 in grant money to go toward a college or degree-granting program. The total will be distributed in $5,000 installments annually and is renewable for four years.
This is part of Caesar’s ‘Don Carano Legacy Scholarship,’ which is a tribute to Carano’s altruistic passion for the gambling industry. Scholarships are open to high school students and those already enrolled in a college if they are a dependent of a Caesar’s employee.
The scholarship program is part of Caesar's recently launched ‘All-in On Education’ program, which offers low-priced or free education and tuition reimbursement. Additionally, it proffers student loan debt repayment options and 529 college savings plan options.
This scholarship has partnered with the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada to select recipients. Students were selected from a diverse pool of applicants whose parents or legal guardians represent Caesars in a wide range of positions and properties.
They hail from all across the US, with recipients from Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Caesars President and COO Anthony Carano commented: “At Caesars Entertainment, our primary focus is treating our team members and guests like family, something my grandfather started with the launch of Eldorado Resorts in 1973.
“He always considered education a fundamental building block, and I know he would be so proud to help open doors for our team members' families. Congratulations to all the recipients of this year's award. We can't wait to continue to watch these young people flourish over the next four years."
Caesars Entertainment is the largest casino-entertainment company in the US and one of the world's most diversified gaming-entertainment providers. It is also one of the US’ oldest gambling institutions, beginning in Reno, Nevada in 1937.
