Sportingtech has overhauled its executive team by appointing Bobby Longhurst as its new managing director. Longhurst comes to the role off the back of three successful years as chief commercial director at Pronet Gaming, where he spearheaded the supplier’s launch into a host of new territories.
Longhurst has 20 years of commercial leadership experience and was instrumental in the rise of SBTech (later purchased by DraftKings). Here, he acted as commercial director and business development manager.
Longhurst is bringing a number of senior executives with him, including Colin McDonagh, who will act as chief sales officer; Daniel Stones will become the new head of marketing; Anthony Murphy will be installed as head of commercial account management.
Sportingtech, a full-service betting and gaming platform provider, has ambitions to extend its reach into emerging regulated markets worldwide. It also wishes to strengthen its current assets in existing territories such as Latin America, where multiple operators already use its flagship Quantum platform.
The Quantum platform controls modular sports betting and casino software, which allows partners to add specific services in the markets they operate in. Sportingtech’s current services include lotteries, comprehensive sports betting, and casino product offerings.
Longhurst believes he is the right person to meet Sportingtech’s overseas development. He says: “I am delighted to be joining Sportingtech at such an exciting time in its development, as I believe we have a great opportunity to make a real impact in the industry.
“We have a very talented team in place and I’m very pleased that we can add some further management experience to it, to build upon the success the company has enjoyed to date.”
Sportingtech is making its Amsterdam debut this week at an iGB Live! media event. Here, Longhurst and his team will discuss the latest opportunities available to both partner operators and fellow suppliers.
