The betting company is looking to spread into Michigan's potentially lucrative market.

DraftKings announced its partnership with Bay Mills Resort & Casino in a move that will bring the reputed mobile sportsbook to a new range of customers across Michigan. The DraftKings sporting app is currently available in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

A study conducted by DraftKings found that, of the Michiganders who had expressed an interest in sports betting, over a third had been forced to make a legal bet by travelling out of state (or even internationally). 55% of respondents had never made a wager, demonstrating the massive potential for casual bettors to enter the market in the Great Lakes State.

This partnership will give Michiganders access to DraftKings mobile and online sportsbook. However, it will not be limited to digital benefits, as Michigan sports fans will be able to place bets in person at the Bay Mills Resort & Casino.

Bay Mills Tribal Chairman Bryan Newland looks forward to the partnership. He states: “We are excited about our new partnership with DraftKings. Expanding on what entertainment options we can offer at Michigan’s longest-operating gaming facility is always our goal. Our new on-site DraftKings Sportsbook will be one more great reason for Michiganders to vacation with us in the Upper Peninsula.”

Michigan is the seventh state to announce the DraftKings retail sportsbook. They follow Colorado, Iowa, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York.

DraftKings is a digital sports entertainment and gaming company that offers products that range across daily fantasy, regulated gaming and digital media. Headquartered in Boston and launched in 2012, DraftKings is the only US-based vertically integrated sports betting operator. They have 50+ operators across more than 15 regulated US and global markets.
