Boom Sports secures Penn National iGaming skins in five states.

Boom Sports has secured market access to operate a mobile sportsbook and casino in five states through an agreement with Penn National.

Penn National will provide the New York gaming developer iGaming skins in Ohio, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi and New Mexico.

“We strategically chose the states because we want to be among the very first operators to launch when they do unveil sports betting,” said Boom Sports CEO Stephen Murphy. “As a company, we didn’t want to be 30th global sportsbook in a state like New Jersey or somewhere that already has sports betting. It was important for us to choose states in what we’re calling effectively the second wave of sports betting.”

Boom Sports has recently developed free to play games for NBC Sports and NASCAR including NASCAR Finish Line, which was launched in February.

Penn National and NASCAR partnered earlier this year.

“The people at NASCAR and Penn are super innovative, forward-thinking people, and so we were really excited to launch that product,” added Murphy. “The engagement has been incredible.”

After the COVID-19 pandemic put NASCAR’s season on hold, Boom Sports built them an eSports version of the game for the sport’s iRacing broadcasts.
