FanDuel has created a role that will make newly appointed Asaf Noifeld responsible for the oversight of FanDuel Group's online casino business.
Amy Howe, President & Chief Executive Officer for FanDuel Group said: "Asaf brings deep experience building online casino businesses across the globe. I am delighted to add him to our leadership team, as he has extensive knowledge in the space which will help grow our online casino business in North America."
Noifeld is joining from fellow Flutter (LON: FLTR) subsidiary PokerStars, where he acted as Managing Director of PokerStars Casino. For eight years, he built the company's online casino business from the beginning, he also expanded the marketing and product functions of the online casino business.
Howe mentioned in a conversation with Gambling Insider's Tim Poole that FanDuel wanted to utilize Flutter’s decades of experience. She also mentioned how important it is for FanDuel to grow within the casino space.
Howe stated: "It’s critically important to our overall portfolio; we’re sitting here with Flutter, the largest online gaming operator, and we have tremendous assets we can and haven’t yet fully leveraged. So casino, you’re going to see a lot more coming in that space."
She also answered Gambling Insider's questions surrounding market competition, such as DraftKings and BetMGM, and how FanDuel can maintain its market share.
Howe answered: "Just to contextualize these numbers for you, by the end of the year we’ll be $2bn in revenue; just two years ago, we were $500m in revenue. Now we’ll hit $500m in one quarter."
She continued: "We think at $2bn that puts us 40-50% bigger than our next biggest competitor in the US. So we have had scale and diversification, meaning breadth of portfolio, that, candidly, other operators haven’t."
Noifeld previously worked in a number of roles for 888 Casino and will be based at FanDuel's New York headquarters.
