IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots game to be featured in television broadcast
The move is in honor of slots game’s 25th anniversary.
Finishing out the game’s 25th anniversary celebration – one which has been ongoing for a year now – IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Slots will be featured in a special televised special version of the famed game show.
The event, known as Wheel of Fortune’s “Big Money” Week, will occur from May 2-6 and is the outcome of cooperation between IGT and Sony Pictures Television, the owner of the game show’s brand.
It will entail the eponymous slot game being featured on air. In addition, the slot will be featured in vignettes throughout the broadcast. Wedges on the famed spinning wheel will contain both the IGT brand logo as well as the MGM Grand logo.
Finally, among the prizes for show contestants are trips on the Carnival Cruise Line, where IGT’s Wheel of Fortune game happens to be prominently featured.
IGT has expressed excitement at the upcoming finale to a year of celebration. Said company Vice President of Global Licensing Jennifer Fales: “Concluding a successful, year-long 25th anniversary celebration of IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Slots on the namesake game show during sweeps week represents the phenomenal entertainment value of IGT’s partnership with Sony Pictures Television.
“Throughout the ‘Big Money’ Week, the game show producers artfully integrated the Wheel of Fortune slots games, while emphasizing their jackpot-paying legacy and giving contestants the opportunity to win big. We hope that players who have enjoyed carious iterations of Wheel of Fortune slots games over the last 25 years will have the opportunity to view these special Wheel of Fortune episodes.”
The slots game is widely regarded as one of the most successful of all time.
