Hard Rock Hotel New York revealed to the public
The property will include entertainment venues, a modern restaurant and immersive guest experiences.
Gaming giant Hard Rock International has launched its new hotel in New York. Located in Midtown Manhattan, next to the Radio City Music Hall, the Rockefeller Center and the Theater District, this new offering will include entertainment venues, a modern restaurant and immersive guest experiences.
“New York City is one of the greatest cities in the world and we are honored to open our doors to locals and travelers looking for a best in class hotel, dining, and entertainment experience,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International.
“Hard Rock has had a presence for decades in the City, but this location will deliver an entirely new experience from the brand that’s been synonymous with music and entertainment for over 50 years.”
With 446 rooms, the accommodation will feature iconic imagery from New York’s famed history of artists and stars.
In terms of restaurants and amenities, the hotel has a series of options, with the NYY Steak being the central piece in this offering. This restaurant is operated in partnership with the New York Yankees.
While this property will not feature any gaming options, it is perhaps indicative of the opportunities available in New York for a casino.
Indeed, according to the budget proposal released in March, the potential fee for a casino license in the Big Apple could reach $1bn.
The proposal stated that the state gaming commission “shall determine a licensing fee to be paid by a licensee within thirty days after the award of the license which shall be deposited into the commercial gaming revenue fund; provided however that such licensing fee shall be no less than one billion dollars per license.”
Several casino brands have shown interest in obtaining licenses to operate in New York City, including MGM, the Shinnecock Tribe, Bally’s, Genting Malaysia, Wynn, Las Vegas Sands and Jason Ader-led SPAC 26 Capital Acquisition and Philippine casino operator Okada Manila.
