This marks the sports media company’s first foray into the ever-expanding sports betting market.

DAZN, a global sports media company, has signed a multi-year agreement with Pragmatic Group, the parent company of Pragmatic Play, to develop and operate a new sports betting platform named DAZN BET.

Headquartered in Gibraltar, this new platform will aim to leverage DANZ’s customer base and brand recognition in order to expand the sports media company’s influence in the gaming industry.

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, noted: "The convergence of sports media and betting is the future. This historic partnership brings together the leading sports media company and a technology partner who is committed to developing innovative experiences for fans. It underscores DAZN's commitment to revitalize the sports viewing experience by offering a broader spectrum of digital entertainment for fans."

While this new platform will utilize all DAZN logos and brands, the underlying technology will be provided by Pragmatic, which has a vast amount of experience in the gambling industry.

Ashley Lang, CEO of Pragmatic Solutions, said: "It's an honor for us to partner with DAZN. We know that fans want more integrated, immersive, and interactive experiences, and through our exclusive partnership with DAZN, we can deliver this".’

This news follows the investment of $4.3bn in the sports media brand earlier this year. These funds have gone, in part, to creating this new offering.

Speaking on the investment, Kevin Mayer, Chairman of the Board at DAZN Group commented: “This backing by Access represents a strong vote of confidence in DAZN’s strategy, progress and future growth opportunities. We are also grateful for the continued support of Dentsu, our second largest shareholder.”
