She brings 25 years of management and telecommunications experience to her new role.

Global sportsbook provider Kambi has appointed Cecilia Wachtmeister as its Chief Commercial Officer. This is the latest in a series of personnel changes within the last year, with the recent promotions of Sarah Robertson to SVP Sales, Jamie McKittrick to SVP Commercial Operations and Veena Dhesi to SVP Partner Success.

Prior to her promotion, Wachtmeister served as Kambi’s EVP Business and Group Functions after she joined the executive management team in 2019. She also served as a board member from 2017 to 2019.

Wachtmeister had 25-year career with telecommunications company Ericsson AB before joining Kambi. She held several senior management positions in various departments and aided the company in business development, sales and strategy.

Kambi Group is an independent provider of sports betting and technology services. The company entered a multi-year sportsbook partnership with MaximBet in January and signed a long-term agreement with Canadian operator NorthStar Gaming in February.

Wachtmeister said the company’s recent success is to be expected.

“With a market-leading product and partner-first focus, it’s no surprise Kambi has enjoyed great success in recent years,” she said.

“Even though we are on a steep growth trajectory, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible which is why I’m looking forward to working with my talented commercial team to ensure Kambi can capitalize on the many exciting opportunities that lay ahead.”

Wachtmeister also commented about the company’s future strategy.

“It has already been a busy start to the year with the signings of MaximBet and NorthStar Gaming and I am confident we have the right team and product in place to build on this success in 2022 and beyond.”
