Supplier continues 18 years of operations in the state with new contract, which could be extended by a further five years.

Scientific Games has won a 10-year contract to provide a state-wide gaming system to serve the Iowa Lottery.

The supplier will work across 2,400 retail locations, with the Iowa Lottery Board voting 5-0 in favour of awarding Scientific Games the contract.

Iowa’s system is slated to switch in the summer of 2021, while the 10-year term may be extended by a further five years.

Scientific Games has already been Iowa’s provider for the past 18 years.

Pat McHugh, Lottery Group CEO for Scientific Games, said: "Scientific Games appreciates the trust the Iowa Lottery has placed in our company and our technology to continue supporting programs that help make Iowa a great place to live.

"We are also very proud the hard work of our teams and ability to successfully align with lotteries' business plans continues to position Scientific Games as the fastest-growing lottery systems provider in North America."
