The Canadian province will become Kindred’s seventh operational region in North America.

Kindred is set to launch its offering in Ontario, Canada. This news, which comes just one week before the market’s launch, will see the gaming company operate in the region via the Unibet brand.

The Ontario iGaming and single event sports betting market is set to launch on April 4 and will quickly become one of North America’s biggest gaming jurisdictions. The market is regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

"This is an exciting day and a significant milestone for both Kindred and Unibet," noted Amanda Brewer, Country Manager Canada, Kindred Group.

"We are proud to have received permission to launch in Ontario on the first day the market opens and look forward to building long-term relationships with our customers and partners. The iGaming market in Ontario is expected to be one of the largest in North America, which makes it a truly interesting proposition for Kindred."

As this launch moves ever closer, some of the industry’s biggest names have signaled their intention to operate in the province, including FanDuel, PointsBet and Kambi.

"Ontario is full of sports teams and passionate fans, which is no surprise given the history and popularity of the NHL, NBA and MLB leagues. What makes Ontario unique is that thanks to its multicultural population matches within for example soccer, rugby, tennis, curling, and cricket are easily found.” continued Brewer.

“There will be no shortage of sports for fans to wager on when the market opens on 4 April. We are excited to provide fans with first class products and experiences."

This marks a continuation of Kindred’s North American expansion plans. Currently, the company is operational in Arizona, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
