Site will be powered by GGPoker Network’s software.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) and GGPoker Network on Thursday said WSOP.CA, a fully-regulated online poker room, will open its doors to Ontario-based players in early April, subject to the successful execution of an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.

The two parties said WSOP.CA will offer players access to exclusive WSOP tournaments and satellites, all running on next-generation software.

WSOP said Canadian players will be welcomed to the poker room through a range of launch promotions and bonuses.

In addition, WSOP.CA players will automatically become enrolled in the Caesars Rewards loyalty program, which Caesars Entertainment says is the largest customer loyalty program in the entertainment-hospitality industry. Members receive hotel, food and beverage, entertainment, and gaming opportunities at Caesars destinations across North America, along with unique sports experiences.

Existing GGPoker players based in Ontario will have the option to transfer their accounts to WSOP.CA once the new poker room is launched. To do so, a player must log in to their GGPoker account, upon which they will be prompted to consent to an automatic account transfer and download a software update.

The two companies said players transferring their account from GGPoker to WSOP.CA will benefit from all of the launch promotions and bonuses as those creating a brand new account.

“As a proud Ontario native, I am thrilled that poker’s two greatest brands have come together to launch WSOP.CA and offer the Ontario poker community the perfect place to play online,” Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Global Ambassador, said in a statement. “You will be seeing exclusive WSOP rewards and tournaments, running on GGPoker’s app.”

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart added: “This partnership combines the best poker brand with the top poker software, and we are thrilled to launch this online poker room for Ontario players. We look forward to seeing Ontarians qualify for the live WSOP in Las Vegas this summer and challenge native son Daniel Negreanu for a gold bracelet.”
