Peter Isola, a Non-Executive Director at the sports betting juggernaut Entain, has announced his departure from the company.
Effective as of March 21, 2022, Isola is set to pursue new opportunities in the ever-expanding gaming market.
Barry Gibson, Entain Chairman, said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Peter for his significant contribution and commitment to Entain over the last six years. We wish him well for the future.”
Isola first joined Entain in February 2016, and has since spent time serving on the company's Audit, Remuneration and ESG Committees.
The former director has held similar positions at BetVictor and the Gibraltar International Bank. He attended Kingston University in the United Kingdom, graduating in 1981.
Entain is one of the leading sports betting companies in both Europe and the United States. In North America, Entain is 50% owner of BetMGM, a joint sports betting venture with MGM Resorts International.
In the last 12 months, Entain has been subject to a number of bids to purchase the company. Notably, DraftKings proposed a bid of over $20bn to acquire the gaming stalwart, an offer which was promptly rejected.
Recently, in support of Responsible Gambling Awareness Month, the Entain Foundation US launched a series of videos, discussions and lists all centering on the prevention of problem gambling.
“The first version of Gamble Responsibly America was well-received and widely welcomed,” said Martin Lycka, Entain Senior Vice President for American Regulatory Affairs & Responsible Gambling and Trustee of the Entain Foundation US.
“We’ve since been working hard on enhancements to provide an even more comprehensive tool for maintaining responsible gambling, as well as for preventing and mitigating problems, should they occur.
“Our goal with the app is simple – to educate users on safe gambling habits and provide the necessary tools and resources to allow users to access help and support instantly.”
