Two racetracks in Alabama – the Birmingham Race Course and VictoryLand – have signed a deal with AmTote International, which is a product of 1/ST TECNHOLOGY, one of the largest racing companies active in the US market.
The agreement is over totalizator services regarding pari-mutuel betting and will signifcantly digitalize the tracks' offerings.
Per the terms, AmTote’s totalizator services will be used on a multi-year basis from April 2022. Furthermore, 1/ST TECHNOLOGY’S AmTote products and services will be installed at the aforementioned Alabama racetracks.
The hope is that with the integration of the new technology, bettor experience will be enhanced with the totalizator platform installed in retail POS betting terminals, self-service betting kiosks as well as mobile betting applications. This is in keeping with 1/ST TECHNOLOGY’S goal of digitizing the racing experience.
On the new partnership, 1/ST TECHNOLOGY Chief Revenue Officer Keith Johnson commented: “We are thrilled to earn the business of Birmingham Race Course and VictoryLand as new AmTote totalizator customers, and are excited to work with their teams as they evolve their wagering paradigm and technology with us.”
He then spoke the praises of his company’s technology: “Our next-generation AmTote wagering platform will play a key role as 1/ST TECHNOLOGY continues to deliver against its mission to expand opportunities for innovation, new revenue opportunities, and diversification across 1/ST Group's racing and gaming verticals.”
From their end, Jefferson County Racing Association, Inc. and Macon County Greyhound Park, Inc. CEO Dr. Lewis Benefield commented on his hopes for the new partnership: “We are excited to begin this new relationship with 1/ST TECHNOLOGY and AmTote as we partner to modernize our operations at Birmingham Race Course and VictoryLand. Partnering with the leading wagering technology provider in racing and gaming will give our customer base a new exciting experience.”
