Digital gaming operator now in 22 markets.

Sports betting and iGaming operator BetMGM on Monday said it launched its mobile app in Illinois over the weekend.

The company said customers in the Prairie State now can access BetMGM’s online sports wagering platform while earning experiences at MGM Resorts’ destinations across the country.

The BetMGM app features a sports betting platform that allows users to customize pre-game, live in-play, futures and parlay wagers. Officials said customers can engage in BetMGM's exclusive, free-to-play contests connected to marquee sporting events, as well as the One Game Parlay product, in which players can combine their wagers on a single game to earn larger payouts.

BetMGM noted it recently launched BetMGM Rewards, a loyalty program offering customers the opportunity to earn points with every wager placed. The points can be redeemed for accommodations and experiences at MGM Resorts properties, including Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Borgata in Atlantic City, MGM Grand Detroit, MGM Northfield Park in Ohio, MGM National Harbor in Maryland, and Beau Rivage in Mississippi.

As BetMGM continues to expand its sports betting platforms to new states, the operator said responsible gaming education remains a key focus. BetMGM said it provides resources to help customers play responsibly, including GameSense, a program developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

Through the integration within BetMGM’s mobile and desktop platforms, the two parties said customers will receive the same GameSense experience they have grown to count on at MGM Resorts properties nationwide. They said the GameSense program complements BetMGM’s existing responsible gaming tools.

The BetMGM app is available for download in Illinois on both iOS and Android, and is accessible via desktop, the company said.

“This launch marks a significant milestone for BetMGM as we enter one of the country’s biggest sports betting markets,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said in a statement. “We look forward to working with the state of Illinois to bring its passionate sports fans a new, innovative and unique sports betting experience.”
