Table tennis wagering leads sportsbook activity in Pennsylvania and Indiana

Table tennis betting has led the way across Rush Street Interactive sportsbooks in Pennsylvania and Indiana over the past several days.

In the absence of mainstream sport, with mass sporting cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic, there has been plenty of industry interest in which verticals operators can turn to in sports wagering’s stead.

However, for Rush Street Interactive, sports bettors have stayed true to their main interest, simply turning to table tennis/ping pong, which is still ongoing as it can be played with social distancing.

Since Sunday 22 March, table tennis has topped handle across PlaySugarHouse.com and BetRivers.com in Pennsylvania.

In Indiana, BetRivers.com has generated the highest handle from table tennis wagering for the last three days.

Mattias Stetz, Rush Street Interactive COO, said: "Ping Pong has the same characteristics as popular betting sports like tennis or baseball but the game is faster.

"It is a perfect game for live betting in that it starts and stops all the time, with very fast changes in momentum."
