Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady on Monday revealed plans to host a night of professional boxing for the first time since September 2017.
On Saturday, April 9, the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center will be the site of seven fights presented by Star Boxing, including a battle for the WBC Continental Americas and NABA Gold Cruiserweight Title featuring Italy’s Simone Federici (18-2-1 8KO’s) and Ukraine native Lyubomyr Pinchuk (14-2-1 8KO’s).
The undercard is headlined by a six-round Light Heavyweight repeat battle between Dublin, Ireland’s Tony Browne (5-1 1KO) and battle-tested Italian, Matteo Deiana; an 8-round Super Lightweight bout featuring Omar “The Beast” Bordoy Jr. (11-1 3KO’s) and Victor Rabei (11-0 4KO’s); Welterweight prospect and son of boxing legend Roberto Duran, Robert Duran Jr. (9-1 7KO’s), undefeated Irish Super Lightweight Ryan O’Rourke (8-0 1KO), Liverpool, New York Super Lightweight prospect Bryce Mills (7-1 4KO’s), and Super Welterweight prospect Wendy Toussaint (12-1 5KO’s).
Tickets start at $65, officials said. They go on sale February 15. On April 9, doors open at 7 pm local time and the fights start at 8 pm.

Star Boxing was founded three decades ago by DeGuardia, an attorney, former boxer and Hall of Fame promoter. The company got its start with the Antonio Tarver - Roy Jones trilogy, and since has promoted events all over the world and on numerous networks.
Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is located at Mohawk Harbor near the heart of downtown Schenectady. It features 1,050 slots, 67 live table games, a 16-table poker room and a live, in-casino luxury sportsbook lounge. The Landing Hotel is a 165-room, six-story boutique hotel with riverfront views located adjacent to the Event Center. Rivers, which opened in 2017, employs approximately 1,200 team members and has been voted a great place to work in Schenectady.
