Move signals the arrival of Washington's first FanDuel location.

Washington State has welcomed the arrival of a new retail sportsbook after FanDuel and Port Madison Enterprises opened one at Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort.

The new location is just off the casino floor. It will be 2086 square feet, have three betting windows and 12 IGT PlaySports self-service kiosks. With the kiosks in place, bets on all major American sports will be allowed. NCAA events will also be allowed, but not if the schools in question are in the state of Washington.

The casino, which is owned by the Suquamish Tribe, was happy to diversify its range of offerings. Said Rion Ramirez, CEO of Port Madison Enterprises, the business arm of the tribe: “We are excited to have formed a partnership with FanDuel, America’s #1 Sportsbook, and be their exclusive partner in Washington State.

“The joint effort between the Suquamish Tribal Gaming Commission, the Washington State Gambling Commission, FanDuel and a number of our casino employees made this all possible and we are thrilled that our sportsbook is now open.”

FanDuel is also happy to be expanding its footprint and moving into new markets. According to Keith Wall, Vice President for Retail, “This has been a special project for us because it has allowed us to expand our retail footprint to the West Coast.”

As part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, retired NFL stars Steve Largent and Jim Zorn placed ceremonial bets on next week’s Super Bowl. Indeed, the timing of the opening is prescient, with next week’s game widely considered to be the biggest betting event of the year.

Washington is now the 14th state to have a retail FanDuel location. The others include Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
