Bill Mikus is set to become SVP of Human Resources, with Edward Evans taking on the role of Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Two key executives are joining the Cordish Companies as the brand continues to expand its gaming division.

Bill Mikus and Edward Evans will take on the roles of SVP of Human Resources and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) respectively.

These appointments come with the focus of expanding the employee engagement strategies for the Live! Casino brand. Indeed, this expansion reflects the projected growth of the gaming brand following its partnership with Gaming and Leisure Properties.

Rob Norton, President of Cordish Gaming Group, sees these appointments as a key step in the company’s growth.

"As Live! Casino continues to grow, we are building a team that shares our dedication to providing exceptional guest experiences and will push us in new directions," he said. "I can't think of a more exciting time to double down on our HR and DEI missions for the future, or of more valued Team Members than Bill and Ed to guide us."

In his new position, Mikus will plan and oversee all human resource functions, this includes team member engagement strategies, leadership development, succession planning and inclusion alignment across the operator’s casinos.

Mikus has previously served as SVP of Human Resources at the Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Previously, the new executive has worked with some of the biggest names in gaming, including Caesars Entertainment.

"The growth of Cordish Gaming Group is changing the competitive landscape of our industry and I'm looking forward to continuing to build a team that reflects the excellence of our brand," Mikus noted.

Meanwhile, Evans will work alongside Mikus in leading the development and implementation of the operators diversity, equity and inclusion strategies. In practice, this will see him develop and promote programs that support all employees in regards to DEI.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Evans has been with the Cordish Company for over a decade, acting as Director of Culinary Operations. The Director holds an active role in his community, working with The Y of Central Maryland, as a Mentor for New Songs Community Learning Center, and as a volunteer for Hungry Hands and C.A.R.E, a non-profit organization for animals.

"The evolution of my career with The Cordish Companies and the Live! brand has led me to this role, where I have a real opportunity to ensure our team reflects the communities where we operate and our Team Members can bring their full authentic selves to work every time they walk through our doors," commented Evans.
