FanDuel to set up shop at Chicago's United Center

The move embellishes prior deals FanDuel made with the Bulls and Blackhawks, who call the arena home.

The United Center – home of the world-famous Chicago Bulls – is welcoming a new tenant: the FanDuel Group, the top-performing sportsbook in the United States.

The new FanDuel sportsbook lounge is slated to be two stories, adjacent to the United Center atrium, fully serviced, and will have state-of-the-art viewing and betting technology.

Construction of the sportsbook is dependent on final approvals, including one from the Illinois Gaming Board. In the meantime, the United Center will build out a non-betting space near the atrium which will have FanDuel branding.

The United Center – known on the streets as ‘The House that Jordan Built’ – is also the home of the Chicago Blackhawks NHL franchise.

For FanDuel, this is an excellent opportunity to expand its brand footprint in what is one of the United States’ preeminent sports betting markets. The company already has a media relationship with both the Bulls and the Blackhawks.

As CEO Amy Howe commented: “Chicago sports fans are some of the most loyal and passionate in the world and plans for our sportsbook lounge inside the United Center reflect this development.

“Our team has a track record of delivering incredible retail locations for fans, and we can’t wait to make this sportsbook lounge the premier destination for Chicago sports fans and a place where they can fully experience the FanDuel brand.”

The United Center, for its part, is happy to be welcoming the New York-based company. As Howard Pizer, Executive Vice President and CEO of United Center Joint Venture, said: “As an industry leader in sports betting with a large and loyal existing customer base, FanDuel has a proven track record of innovation and excellence making the perfect partner in developing the sportsbook at the United Center.”
