A significant expansion for the hallowed Argentine racing ground.

Sky Racing World (SRW) has announced a boost to its international racing content portfolio after it announced a new feature: the international commingling of wagering pools with the host pool at the esteemed Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The first instance of these commingling pools occurred at the Hipódromo on January 3. Bettors in international markets – including in the US, Canada, the Caribbean and elsewhere – were able to place wagers on events happening in Buenos Aires.

Viewing the Hipódromo races will now be available on the SRW website, ADW websites, as well as on the SRW app, with races taking place every Monday and a smaller selection on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

In order to achieve this, the board and management people at the Hipódromo had to work in concert with the Argentine government to encourage and help it pass legislation which would allow international commingling.

It also is a coup for the Buenos Aires racetrack. The Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo is the setting for some of the country’s most esteemed racing events, including the the Estrellas Classic, Gran Premio Selección and the Gran Premio Nacional (the Argentine Derby, which first happened in 1884).

This marks a significant step for SRW, which is owned by the Australian gaming juggernaut Tabcorp. Beyond this development in the American market, the company’s global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore and Japan.
