The platform is going live in the midst of a white hot sports betting market.

A new digital sports betting platform has gone live in Arizona after SAHARA Las Vegas and Grand Sierra Resort in Reno have announced a partnership with the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes.

The new platform, known as SaharaBets, is expected to go live on January 12,  just in time for a particularly busy period in the annual sports calendar.

SaharaBets will be officially licensed by the Arizona Department of Gaming and owned by Meruelo Gaming LLC, an affiliate of the SAHARA and the Grand Sierra.

SaharaBets is eager to tap into what has been a resoundingly strong sports betting market.

Since going live in September, the Grand Canyon State has had the strongest first and second months in legal sports betting history, having seen the highest amount in wagers as well as the highest revenue of any state so far.

As SaharaBets President, Andrew Patterson, commented: “SaharaBets brings the excitement and reputation of the iconic SAHARA Las Vegas to sports fans here in Arizona.

“As the sports betting landscape continues to evolve in the Valley, SaharaBets looks forward to collaborating with the Coyotes organization to engage and interact with sports fans in fun and unique ways.”

The Coyotes, for their part, were excited to see the fan experience enhanced.

As team President and CEO Xavier A. Gutierrez commented: “The Coyotes are dedicated to providing innovative and entertaining experiences for our great fans.

“Our partnership with SaharaBets will offer next-level gaming experiences for fans who want to unleash their competitive spirit.”
