Newest pop culture entry in market comes from an Amazon Prime Video series.

The “American Gods” slot game from Skyrocket Studios launched through Entain last week, the two parties said Wednesday.

The latest movie/TV series to be turned into a slot machine/game originally was a novel by Neil Gaiman. It was adapted by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, and eventually produced by Fremantle for the premium cable network Starz.

In November, gambling film and media brand rights entity Skyrocket Entertainment bought the international gaming rights to what had become a hit fantasy drama series on Amazon Prime Video.

Skyrocket said it would transform the brand into new gaming content and products, and migrate them into the worldwide online gambling sector through its newly launched Skyrocket Studios division.

Skyrocket Studios said it worked with Bang Bang Games, a studio known for games such as Deal Or No Deal, Dumb and Dumber, and Austin Powers. On Wednesday, they said American Gods has been transformed into a feature-rich, online slot game, with themes involving the battle between Old Gods and New Gods.

The new game launched on December 15 and now is live in numerous online casinos around the world.

Launched at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Skyrocket Entertainment aims to transform iconic Hollywood feature films and branded intellectual property rights into content for real and social money gaming. The company acquired the international rights to 75 feature films, including Rambo, The Expendables and The Fallen franchise. In 2019, Skyrocket acquired The Games Company to broaden its reach in delivering exciting and standout games.

Skyrocket Studios says it is focused on bringing the biggest worldwide brands from the worlds of film, TV, music and sport to global gaming audiences. The company says its ambition is to deliver up to 20 premium branded slot games per year.
