Delaware’s November iGaming net win sets 2021 high

Online gaming revenue in Delaware during November reached nearly $1bn, the best month of the year for operators.

According to figures released by the Delaware Lottery, the Blue Hen State’s three racinos saw their best net win of the year in both the table games ($196,488) and video lottery ($766,789) categories.

Poker rake and fee added $33,361 last month, leading to a total of $996,639.

The net win for November was up $66,546, or 7.2%, from October’s total of $930,093.

The November 2021 net win was up 75.4% from $568,069 in the same month last year.

The previous best month in terms of operator net win during 2021 was August’s $945,512.

New registrations cooled slightly in November after the four best months of the year from July through October. The state added 772 players last month, down from 940 in October and a 2021 best 973 in September.

The state’s busiest operator in November was Delaware Park, with $417,251 in net win on $14.9m in wagers. Dover Downs was second with $315,046 in net on handle of $8.3m. Harrington Raceway was third with $264,340 in revenue on $6.8m in wagers.

Delaware Park has led the way in net win in eight of the 11 months so far in 2021. Dover Downs had the top figure of the month in April and June, while Harrington was best in September.

Online gaming has been legal in Delaware since 2012. After the pandemic forced people to stay at home in March 2020, the state saw a surge in new players. Following net wins of $387,865 and $324,957 in January and February of 2020, respectively, net win that March was $514,959, then $856,181 in April and $1.1bn in May.
