Part of a concerted push by the company to improve its content offerings.

PointsBet, the renowned gaming operator with a global footprint, has announced the hiring of Liam Roecklein as a new Senior Vice President of Content. The move indicates the desire for the company to expand the breadth of content it offers.

Roecklein’s remit will be devising the content strategy in digital, social and traditional media. In order to fully achieve his tasks, he has at his disposal PointsBet’s strategic partnerships, most notably with NBC Sports, through which there is an exclusive betting partnership with professional sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, and the NHL.

Roecklein struck an upbeat tone when commenting on the various possibilities the new role offered: “PointsBet’s stable of talent and sports partnerships offers a treasure trove of untapped resources.

“The industry is just starting to embrace the assets available to create extraordinary content for use in traditional, online and social media. We are at the precipice of what’s to come. True to form for the brand, PointsBet will be at the forefront of attracting users and engaging them where they are.”

Roecklein had previously worked in a similar sphere, as Senior Vice President & General Manager at Chedder News, the live-streaming financial information channel. In this capacity he had helped expand the network’s footprint, overseeing the growth of its content, production, programming and branded products.

The Australian-based PointsBet is making a concerted effort to develop its original content offerings. Leading this charge is another new hire, Kyle Christensen, US Chief Marketing Officer.

Christensen welcomed the new addition to the team, saying about Roecklein: “We are poised to do big things with Liam coming on board. His proven track record of growing businesses using content as a staple for building communities can’t be understated.

“This market is still so new to so many. We have a unique opportunity here to expand the sporting experience with our in-house technology and the NBC partnership, highlighting why PointsBet is the premier destination for bettors. Liam and his team will be at the center of this.”
