IGT will provide retail and mobile sports betting in West Virginia and retail sports betting in Arkansas.
In West Virginia, Delaware North’s Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes and Wheeling Island Casino will operate with IGT retail and mobile sports wagering technology.
Southland Casino Racing in West Memphis, Arkansas will also use IGT retail products.
IGT PlayDigital Senior VP Enrico Drago said: “We're proud to add Delaware North to our growing list of U.S.-based customers leveraging PlaySports technology to offer reliable, best-in-class sports betting experiences to their patrons.”
Delaware North operates casinos and gaming properties in seven states as well as Australia.
Last year Delaware North shut down its West Virginia sportsbooks as a result of a dispute with then-operator Miomni.
Delaware North Gaming Division President Brian Hansberry said: “IGT is a serious sports betting technology provider with a proven commitment to customer success, excellent global reputation, and a reliable, omni-channel sports betting solution for the U.S. market.”
With the deal, IGT expands its presence into 11 US states
IGT is the subject of a recent independent report in Rhode Island.
According to the Providence Journal, an independent consultant questioned a 20-year contract given to the operator.
The consultant group argued that an open bidding process for the gaming contract would result in lower tab for state taxpayers.
