Eight kiosks signal further growth for the Betfred brand in the US.

The We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort has welcomed sports betting for the first time after the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and Betfred Sports introduced eight self-service kiosks.

With the new machines installed, bettors will be able to place wagers on a number of sports in the pre-match, in-play or futures phases. For these, they will have the opportunity to use straight bets, parlay cards, teasers and other such features. There will be the option, too, using winning tickets to make more bets.

Of the eight kiosks, four will be on the casino floor while another four will be in the WKP Sports & Entertainment, an on-site sports bar.

With the new machines, casino management intends to further improve the allure of their establishment. Said General Manager Mary Ketterling: “When designing the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation wanted it to be the place for local residents and area visitors interested in the latest-and-greatest gaming options. Adding sports betting further helps us make our beautiful casino the one-stop gaming destination they envisioned.

The machines were developed by the UK-based Betfred Group. Since 2019, Betfred USA has made headway into the domestic market. It is currently the sportsbook sponsor of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. It is a licensed operator in Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Colorado, and has pending applications in Nevada and Washington.

Betfred Sports is keen to further expand its footprint in the American market, an area to which it has devoted much focus over recent years. According to COO Bryan Bennett: “We are now one step closer to offering Arizona sports bettors a great betting experience with the new self-service kiosks at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.

Bennett also speaks to further ambitions at the location: "We look forward to opening the complete Betfred Sportsbook early next year.”
