Major League Soccer club the Colorado Rapids have announced a partnership with Tipico Sportsbook which will see the Malta-based gambling company become the presenting sponsor for the team’s Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoff Run.
Tipico sees the deal as the next step in its continued movement into the Colorado market. According to US CEO Adrian Vella: “With the opening of our new technology hub in Denver and the recent launch of our online sportsbook in the state, Colorado is starting to feel like home to the Tipico team. We’re thrilled to partner with our new neighbors on what we hope will become an annual Thanksgiving weekend tradition: the Colorado Rapids playing and advancing deep into the MLS Cup Playoffs.”
As part of the deal, Tipico will sponsor the Friendsgiving Tailgate prior to the Western Conference Semifinal, a match that will see the Rapids going up against the Portland Timbers FC. Additionally, there will be ticket giveaways and seat upgrades that will give fans the opportunity to go to the field-level Tipico Terrace Club Box for all subsequent Rapids playoffs games (in the event there are any).
Tipico will also be playing its part in a charitable sense in the partnership by becoming involved with the Rapids and Kroenke Sports Charities. These have a Thanksgiving meal program which contributes 32,000 meals to disadvantaged families.
The partnership was welcome by the Colorado Rapids. According to the team’s Executive VP & General Manager Pádraig Smith: “We’re delighted to welcome Tipico Sportsbook as our presenting sponsor for their club’s upcoming playoff run, including our historic game on Thanksgiving Day. We look forward to having Tipico onboard to help us elevate our fans’ experience during what we hope will be a very special playoff stretch.”
Thursday’s MLS game will be the first ever played on a Thanksgiving Day.
