Williams joins Penn National from Apple, where he has worked for 20 years as a finance executive. He will begin his new position on 3 March.
Williams succeeds William Fair, who announced in September that he would step down.
Penn National CEO Jay Snowden said: “Dave brings extensive technology, financial, and strategic growth experience to his new role.”
Williams will be responsible for overseeing Penn National’s financial and treasury facets and developing strategic growth particularly in iGaming and sports betting.
At Apple, Williams holds the role of CFO and Controller of the Claris division, a B2B software subsidiary.
Williams joined Apple in 1995 and led the transition of Claris from a Macintosh software company into a cross-platform, multi-channel product.
Williams said: “I am very impressed by Penn National’s strategic vision and look forward to taking part in the company’s ongoing growth story, which focuses heavily on my expertise in the interactive space. I look forward to working with Jay, the corporate and property management teams and the Board of Directors to achieve our strategic and financial goals.”
The hire comes at a time when Penn National is expanding its footprint with operations in 19 states.
