21% share: Elys Game Technology in DC restaurants a recipe for success

Report comes amid other partnership announcements for Elys.

Elys Game Technology, a company that installs and operates sports betting and iGaming technology, has reported that its October sports hold performance was nearly 21% compared to competitors. Elys’ strong performance was due to the successful implementation of USBookmaking, its turnkey sportsbook technology, at the Grand Central Restaurant and Bar in Washington, DC.

The technology allows gamers to place bets while they are consuming drinks or waiting on their food to arrive.

The report also came with the news that Elys signed a partnership with Ocean Casino Resort that is due to launch in March 2022.

Elys’ management took the news as a vote of confidence that their growth strategy was effective. Said Executive Chairman of Elys, Michele Ciavarella: “[The strong report] validates the company’s US go-to-market strategy and reinforces that Gameboard is built specifically for the US market providing a low-cost, turn-key, end-to-end solution, which can apply to a full range of operator sizes, from small independent businesses through large resort casinos.”

Ciavarella is convinced that Elys has discovered a winning formula. “Early data indicates that almost 30% of incoming restaurant walk-through patrons drop in to place a ticket and stay for a drink or snack...Both the early results for the restaurant in DC, along with the on-boarding of USBookmaking, have also had the significant effect of accelerating the execution of our US strategies."

The Toronto-based company is on the cusp of further expansion into both the American and Canadian market, especially through the above-described method of installing its technology in smaller casinos and independent businesses.
