Bally’s, WynnBet among nine operators recommended for New York sports betting licenses

The New York Gaming Commission has recommended sports betting licenses for nine operators, giving them the opportunity to launch their mobile and retail sportsbooks throughout the state.

Some of the operators who have been given licenses include Bally’s Corporation, BetMGM, WynnBet, FanDuel, DraftKings, RSI, Resorts World, PointsBet, Kambi and Caesars Entertainment, who are already active in the Empire State.

Soo Kim, chairman of Bally's Corporation's board of directors, noted: "Bally's is pleased to have been awarded an online sports betting license from the State of New York -- the most populous state to enable OSB -- and would like to thank the New York State Gaming Commission for including Bally's in this exciting endeavor.

“This license advances our overall market footprint and marks the latest milestone on our journey towards becoming the leading omni-channel gaming provider in the US Above all, we look forward to providing New York's devoted fan base with engaging, best-in-class, sports betting experiences."

This news marks Bally’s entrance into its 16th state pending the completion of the company’s acquisitions.

WynnBet has commented on the New York Gaming Commission’s decision, with its CEO, Craig Billings, adding: "We're excited that the New York State Gaming Commission has approved our request for application for online sports betting

"New Yorkers represent a significant portion of the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Boston Harbor databases, and we look forward to giving those customers more ways to earn and use Wynn Rewards. We also look forward to meeting and engaging with new customers in the state via WynnBet."
